Patients First. Team Second. Self Third.
Our philosophy is simple: Patients First, Team Second, Self Third. It’s the guiding principle that shapes every appointment, every treatment, and every interaction at Taylorview Dental.
At Taylorview Dental, we know that dentistry isn’t just about fixing teeth—it’s about people. It’s about trust, comfort, and knowing that when you sit in the chair, your dentist truly cares about how you feel, not just how your teeth look.
Dr. Todd Matheson
Dr. Todd Matheson grew up in the amazing town of Shelley, Idaho, where he developed a strong sense of community and a love for the outdoors. After dedicating two years to a LDS mission in Connecticut, he returned to pursue his academic ambitions, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from BYU-Idaho. His passion for dentistry led him to Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, where he graduated Cum Laude.
His rigorous training and dedication to his craft laid the foundation for a successful career in dentistry. With a unique blend of artistic talent and precision, Dr. Matheson finds immense joy in the personal interactions and hands-on work that dentistry offers. He believes that dental care should be a positive experience and is dedicated to creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for all his patients, especially those who may feel anxious about dental visits. His primary goal is to provide exceptional care that not only addresses patients’ needs but also fosters trust and long-lasting relationships.
Outside of the dental office, Dr. Matheson cherishes time with his wife and five children. Family is at the core of his life, and he values the moments spent together, whether it’s enjoying outdoor adventures, playing sports, or simply relaxing at home. An avid outdoorsman, he loves all things hunting. Some of his favorite memories are the one-on-one hunting trips with his kids. He is also a huge BYU fan and loves watching his oldest daughter, who is currently a cheerleader for BYU.
Dr. Scott D. Davis
Dr. Scott D. Davis was born and raised in Idaho Falls, where he developed a deep appreciation for community, education, and the power of service. His father, Dr. James Douglas Davis, was a dedicated physician who practiced alongside Dr. Drostan Baker Sr. for many years and delivered over 10,000 babies—instilling in Dr. Davis a lifelong respect for healthcare and excellence. After earning a degree in Business Management from Brigham Young University in 1975, he pursued dentistry at Creighton School of Dentistry, graduating with high honors in 1982. During his training, he ranked academically in the top five of his class of 80, was recognized as one of the top two clinical students, and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society representing the profession’s top 10% nationwide.
Dr. Davis has spent his entire professional career practicing general dentistry in Idaho Falls, where he has continued to expand his clinical expertise through extensive post-graduate training in endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, and implant dentistry. He was the first dentist to place a dental implant in Idaho Falls and has completed thousands of successful root canal procedures with a success rate exceeding 98%. His commitment to clinical excellence, ethics, and patient-centered care has made him a respected clinician for decades.
Family remains Dr. Davis’s greatest joy. He and his wife, Sharon, are the proud parents of three sons—Tyler, an MD/PhD medical researcher at the University of Utah, and Jordan and Brett, both practicing dentists—continuing a meaningful family legacy in healthcare. When he’s not in the office, Dr. Davis cherishes his time as a husband, father, and grandfather. Dentistry follows closely behind as one of his life’s greatest passions.
